Ejaculation is your typical culmination for the man during self-stimulation or partner play. How it occurs, what constitutes semen, and the way it is created are common queries. Learn the facts about ejaculate.
The Basics Behind Ejaculation
Ejaculation occurs when semen is discharged from the penis, usually during orgasm. Before this happens, however, a small number of pre-ejaculate is usually released.
This pre-ejaculate also referred to as pre-cum, drips from the head of the penis when you’re aroused. It consists of one to two drops of alkaline fluid from the Cowper’s glands (the two small glands beneath the prostate). Its alkalinity neutralizes the acidity that remains in the urethra from recent urination.
After the emergence of pre-ejaculate, that final, orgasmic explosion marks the last stage of male sexual arousal. While not every erection necessarily leads to ejaculation, as it does, semen flows from the urethra, first in a gush and then, eventually, decreasing in volume.
Its noun form, the term”ejaculate” can be utilized as another name for semen. Ejaculate, or semen, is composed of 90 percent water. It is opaque, milky, opalescent look, however, is generated by the sperm which makes up the remainder of your semen. This opalescence raises if the ejaculate has a higher concentration of semen.
Sixty-five percent of the semen present in an ejaculation comes from the seminal vesicles. Thirty-five percentage comes from the prostate, giving the semen its characteristic odor. Five per cent of your semen is made up of different fluids in the body.
When you orgasm, you ejaculate between 1 and 5 milliliters of semen.
The average is two to three milliliters (a little teaspoon). To give you an idea of how this compares to the output of other species, an adult crazy male boar produces 0.5 liters (approximately 2 cups or 1 pint) of semen per orgasm.
Putting quantity aside, did you know that an orgasm can travel around three feet or longer? Do not worry, however, if you feel your ejaculate is not going the distance. The average distance that ejaculate can traveling is about 7 to 10 inches (17 to 25 centimeters).
Multiple Orgasms in Men
Multiple orgasms are rarer for men than they are for women. The ability to have repeated ejaculation varies considerably from man to man and starts to decline almost instantly once puberty is complete. Within a period of one to two hours, most guys may have just one ejaculation. There are some who can have another ejaculation within those two hours and, on rare occasions, there are individuals who can have four or three. Alfred Kinsey, a renowned sex researcher, recorded one man who was able to ejaculate six to eight times in one session, but this is quite rare.
Ejaculation and Fertility
The quantity and space of ejaculation don’t have some bearing on your ability to impregnate your partner.
In fact, you can impregnate someone with only a very small little semen. That is why coitus interruptus (withdrawing before orgasm) may nevertheless cause pregnancy. However, a low sperm count of below 39 million in one orgasm may imply it’s more challenging to generate a pregnancy. If you are coping with fertility, a sperm analysis will reveal whether any aspect of your semen might be a contributing factor.
